We went on a girls only road trip today to see the Raflesia flower, which is about an hour to hour and a half drive into the mountains. It was 2 kids and 5 ladies (including myself). I was the driver. We had a blast!
We are ready...
We made it to the first flower that was bloomed.
It was actually a little disappointing, because it was already beginning to day and the climb to see it was anti-climatic. We were ready for a trek deeper in the jungle. It wasn't far from the road.
We found out there was another flower bloomed further up the mountain. We continued on and came to this flower. This was much better!
Naomi had a bamboo hiking stick. She was very excited to have a walking stick.
Closer to the top of the mountain is a little village that sells fresh fruit and vegetables like pumpkins, sweet potatoes, bananas, avocados, etc. Yummy!
